Tell us about yourself, Suzette!
I am 53 years old and the mother of 2 daughters who are 27 and 22. I have been an X-ray technologist for 29 years. I absolutely love my career field! I grew up on the MS coast, at one point moved to south Florida for 6 years, and then returned. I love my life!
How did you come to understand your inner beauty?
My life wasn’t always easy, I have been in two very bad relationships. I lost myself in a mentally and verbally abusive relationship. I didn’t like myself or my life. However, when that relationship ended I began to see my true inner beauty shinning through.
When I turned 50, I was losing the battle of fighting my gray hair. I gave up and let it grow in. Some people tell me that I’m “too young to have gray hair,” but others tell me it looks great. Many times I’ve been tempted to dye it brown again, but I have more confidence and self worth today then I’ve ever had – I won’t let my hair color determine that.
Today, I can truthfully say I love myself! Beauty comes from within. If you start to feel comfortable with who you are and confident on the inside, your true beauty will shine through.
Tell us about your experience with the photo shoot.
It meant a lot to me, I don’t usually feel confident or comfortable having photos of me taken. It made me feel like maybe I could be an inspiration to someone!
Brandi made me feel very comfortable and the atmosphere in the studio was nice. I appreciated Brandi’s assistance selecting outfits and coordinating jewelry.
