“I wondered if Brandi could reflect my beauty in the same way she had done for so many others.” – Jo

How are you are living your most fabulous life?

When I turned 35, I decided that this would be my GDY (Greatest Decade Yet) and I have made it my reality! Many people choose decade milestones like 30 or 40 to decide to live their best lives or make personal changes, but why wait? I learned that every day is a decision to manifest my hopes and dreams, even with setbacks. Every day I adjust and grow and my personal goal has turned into my wish for everyone to connect. I know in my heart that we all want the SAME THINGS and we are all worthy and beautiful together, and as individuals.

Do you struggle to see your own beauty?

“I do, at times. Sometimes the outside influences, especially of media and social media, have a tendency to tempt me away from the truth in beauty. I would remind them that they are the most important love of their lives. No one can ever know or love you like you can when you put the work in.”

What was your experience with the photo shoot?

“I had been wondering if Brandi could reflect my beauty in the same way she had done for so many others! I don’t feel photogenic, but Brandi makes everyone look like a work of art.

I’ve had many friends and acquaintances who have had portraits taken by Brandi. I’ve admired her work and been in awe of her ability to bring out the most in women. I cried with joy when I was selected. The BBP project was a once in a lifetime opportunity to not only experience her artistry, but to share a piece of myself.

The morning of the photoshoot, I was a nervous wreck. I suddenly became self conscious and anxious about my clothing choices and more. When I entered Brandi’s studio, it was as if I entered a different world! She had music playing, more options for clothing and jewelry. Most of all, Brandi’s beautiful smile and vibe melted my worries away. We talked like girlfriends that had known each other for years while she pampered me with a makeover. When we started with the pictures, she was so patient and kind while helping me pose for flattery and kept reminding me that allowing my inner beauty to shine was the key to great pictures.”
