Tell us about yourself, Brittany!
I’m a 35 year old mother to a beautiful 9 year old little girl and I’m a hard working entrepreneur at heart. I own and operate a professional cleaning and organizing service, (Visualize, LLC) and I’m also a licensed Realtor. I’m adventurous, open minded, and enjoy having fun with a sense of humor. I also have faith! Keeping a positive attitude on life helps me continue to thrive.
How did you come to understand your inner beauty?
When I younger, I was always asked, “What are you?” To this day I still get the question of “What’s your nationality?” I struggled with styling my hair and my skin tone. My mom is Native American and my father is Puerto Rican. My parents divorced when I was 6. I lived with my mom until 13, and then I decided to move with my father who lived in Puerto Rico. I’ve worked since I was 14 years old.
When I moved to Puerto Rico they called me the “white girl”. The first two years were rough. I had friends who stood up for me and showed me a way how to wear my hair, instead of pulling in back in a bun. I was never the type to wear makeup either, and still to this day wear the bare minimum. It wasn’t until recently that I’ve been able to realize my inner beauty and embrace my nationality and natural curly hair. I have a beautiful soul and enjoy sharing positive energy with other beautiful souls. God has been good to me and keeping the faith has made me realize I can always lean on him.
What parts of your story can you share to help women to understand their own beauty?
Being able to see your inner beauty helps you feel beautiful. You are beautiful even though you may not know it. You must love yourself. When you finally are able to see it you will feel it, with or without the bells and whistle. Doing things for people helps me feel good about myself, but that’s not about being beautiful. Being able to balance work and being a mother can be inspiring. Seeing my beautiful daughter growing up and people giving me compliments of my parenting is a beautiful feeling. Knowing your story and being able to feel beautiful, even if you’ve been doubted, is a beautiful feeling. Trust in yourself and know you are beautiful.
What was your experience with the photo shoot?
My experience with the photoshoot was a memorable one. They are definitely beautiful souls. Creating the bold, beautiful, perfect project is such an inspiring act of kindness to empower women to share our story and know we are beautiful regardless of how others can make us feel.
The shoot helped me realize my story and helped me share it with others to help them know they are beautiful. When you are loving, caring, and have faith you can do almost anything, especially be beautiful! It made me feel empowered when I was selected for the bold, beautiful, and perfect project.
