Bold Beautiful Perfect: Geneva

“Ease up on yourself. Failure is an opportunity to grow and learn. Use the tools available to you to empower not only yourself, but others as well.”

Tell us about yourself, Geneva!

Hi! My name is Geneva. I have had the privilege of venturing down many different paths both professionally and personally. My mottos are: 1) Never miss a learning opportunity, be it academic or practical, and 2) Adapt and overcome as often as you need to.

How did you come to understand your beauty?

Age and experience have brought a certain level of acceptance that makes me more comfortable with who I am physically and mentally. I strive to be kind and compassionate towards myself, although sometimes I fail. Thankfully I have a good circle of friends to help me learn and grow constructively.

This project is all about inspiring women to see their beauty. What parts of your story can you share to help women to understand their own beauty?

Ease up on yourself. Failure is an opportunity to grow and learn. Use the tools available to you to empower not only yourself, but others as well.

Additionally, all too often, we are given the impression that it’s not okay to be feminine in any aspect of our lives. I disagree with that. You absolutely can be feminine while being firm in your beliefs and your business practices. I think it is healthy to retain or even reclaim your femininity. Being feminine does not make a woman weak; on the contrary, I believe a strong, confident, feminine woman is a force to be reckoned with.

What did the shoot mean to you? What did it feel like to be selected?

I was extremely honored to have been selected. I intend to make this an annual event simply because it reminds me that I am still pretty. I am more than the frumpy, disheveled, harried mom/entrepreneur/wife/bookkeeper that is my daily life. This experience allowed me to tap into my femininity that gets overlooked most days. I also appreciate that my children will be able to see this side of me, both now and after I’ve left this earth.

As always, Brandi is a joy to work with, and Kasper is an amazing addition to the team. Both of them were clear in their instructions and very encouraging with their words. I highly recommend this experience to any woman of any age, but especially those of us who are a bit more seasoned.

This is quite different from the canned photo shoots we all grew up with. In remembering my younger days, this is more like a professional engagement focused more on capturing moments rather than an image.

Anything final words you’d like to share?

Again, I cannot recommend this experience highly enough for a woman’s physical and mental health. Embrace it, ladies. Be confident in yourselves and your femininity. You’ve got this.
