Tell us about yourself, Jennifer!
I’m an author, college instructor, and mother of two teenagers.
How did you come to understand your inner beauty?
I think inner beauty is a spark that’s fueled by a combination of curiosity, openness, and empathy. The ability to connect with others on a genuine level has a way of radiating positivity outward. Nothing is more beautiful than a positive vibe–especially now.
What parts of your story can you share to help women to understand their own beauty?
In the same way beauty does not have an expiration date, your dreams don’t have one either. After years of working to become an author, I just published my first book with Simon & Schuster at the age of 47. Never giving up on something you’ve always wanted to accomplish is the way to achieve it. Visual artists and actors and writers all know rejection isn’t an obstacle; it’s just part of the journey. Showing my own kids and students how a creative career is possible was just as much a part of my goal in achieving that dream as achieving it for myself.
Tell us about your experience with the photo shoot.
I’m honored to be selected as part of a project centered around women helping women. Empowering other women to see their inner beauty is a life-changing movement and something that’s always been close to my heart. My daughter came along, and we had such a lovely day!
