Tell us about yourself, Misty!
I am 42 years old. I was born in Illinois and raised in Selma, AL. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart Joseph and we have two children Barbara and Maycen. I believe in helping others and being the best I can be.
How did you come to understand your inner beauty?
I was bullied and picked on growing up, so my journey to understanding my inner beauty wasn’t easy. I went down a dark path until one day, the Lord opened my eyes and made me believe in myself again. It was through the pain and struggles that I discovered my self-worth and start seeing the real beauty inside of me.
What parts of your story can you share to help women to understand their own beauty?
For me, finding my inner beauty started with believing in myself and the fact I can make a difference, despite what the world or outside influences think of me. Loving yourself and seeing yourself through the eyes of God (not the world) is what makes you beautiful. You are a precious gift.
Tell us about your experience with the photo shoot.
My experience was amazing. I felt beautiful and inspired to keep creating images that tell my story and to help other women see the beauty in themselves as well.
This shoot meant everything to me. Being able to inspire and uplift other women to see their beauty and full potential is absolutely amazing and and honor, and I truly thank Brandi for letting me have this experience.
Anything else you’d like to share?
You can be a light in this broken world. Rise up and never be ashamed of who you are… after all, “God don’t make no junk!” Know your worth. You’re beautiful just the way you are!
