Tell us about yourself, Darlene!
I’m a wife, a grandmother, a mother, and a provider of care in the health care system as a Nurse Practitioner (NP). As a NP, my passion is guiding patients towards their best health. Spending time with my grandchildren brings me joy and allows me to feel childlike. My favorite place is the outdoors, and my love of music keeps me going through the day. I have a goal of learning something new every day!
How did you come to understand your inner beauty?
Beauty is not about how others see me – it’s about looking at myself and believing in my spiritual gifts. God has given me kindness, a gentle spirit, patience, goodness, love, patience, and a desire to do my best. By living wisely and taking care of my health, my outer appearance will shine. On the days I struggle, I remind myself of Ephesians 2:19-22 which can be paraphrased as: “Whenever you feel unloved, unimportant, or insecure, remember to whom you belong.”
Tell us about your experience with the photo shoot.
Even though I met Brandi for the first time at the photo shoot, it felt like I had known her for years! She is calm, gentle, and encouraging. The photo shoot was a new experience and I love to try new things.
