Natalie’s story:
I’m Natalie Guess, a multifaceted professional with a diverse background in health and wellness and strategic business consulting. I earned my certification in Health and Wellness from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York in 2019. Through my time at IIN, I gained extensive knowledge about health and wellness, which supported my personal journey and deepened my understanding of how to enhance well-being. I’ve long been an advocate of a plant-based diet, and I’ve experienced its positive effects firsthand, which is why I strongly champion its benefits for overall health. In 2024, I published my first children’s book focused on plant-based eating. In June 2021, I founded NG Consulting LLC, a firm focused on helping small businesses thrive. My peers respect me for my ability to leverage emerging technologies, solve complex problems, and lead teams to exceed expectations. I have started real estate investing with flipping property and building short-term rentals which has been extremely exciting and rewarding. I also work for The University of Southern Mississippi in innovation and impact in the Office of Innovation Management. Every day is different.
What are some of the rewarding parts of the current decade you are in? The challenges?
One of the most rewarding aspects of this decade has been discovering my passion for real estate investing and gaining confidence in my decisions. Last year, I also published a children’s book about plant-based eating, which was an exciting and fulfilling milestone. I feel like this phase of my life is about embracing what truly makes me happy and whole—without fear. Of course, one of the biggest challenges I’m navigating is juggling all the things I want to accomplish, but I see it as part of the journey.
What has been your favorite decade you have lived through and why?
My 40s have truly been my best decade. I’ve been more focused than ever on making decisions that are best for me, my family, and our future. This phase of my life has been about clarity, confidence, and intentionally shaping the path ahead.
If given the opportunity, what would you do differently?
If given the opportunity, I wouldn’t change a thing. I believe that everything happens for a reason and that we’re always exactly where we’re meant to be at the right time. Every experience—good or bad—has a purpose, and I see life as a journey of growth, learning, and embracing each moment as it comes.
What was your top life lesson that you’ve never forgotten and have lived by?
My parents have always been incredibly hard workers, and that work ethic was instilled in me from a young age—I’ve had a job since I was 14. My dad, in particular, taught me the importance of independence, which has been a guiding principle in my life. I absolutely love my husband and the partnership we share, but I also take pride in knowing that I can always take care of myself and our family if ever necessary.
What has bought you the most joy in your life?
