Yashica’s story:
“If I want to be free, I’ve got to be me. Not the me you think I should be, not the me I think my wife thinks I should be, not the me I think my kids think I should be. If i want to be free, I’ve got to be me so I better know who me is.” Bill Gove This poem often quoted by the late Bob Proctor resonated with my soul. I decided to embark on a life’s journey to find out who “me” is.
What are some of the rewarding parts of the current decade you are in? The challenges?
This decade has just begun however I begin the chapter of my life in alignment with my true self, my accepted self, and my authentic self. No apologies I am just being me. Free to Be Me, the me I say I think I should be. I am now living the ME I know I am to be.
What has been your favorite decade you have lived through and why?
I do not have a favorite however I can say my forties was the era of my awakening.
If given the opportunity, what would you do differently?
I would not do anything differently. I now understand that everything happened for me to be at this place, in this moment, loving myself at this time. Life is a testament for the testimony.
What was your top life lesson that you’ve never forgotten and have lived by?
I learned to be me and let go of expectations.
What has bought you the most joy in your life?
Understanding the purpose of my children in my life.
What was your experience like working with Brandi Stage Portraiture as a part of the 40 Over 40 Project?
The experience allowed me to let go, try something different and let the process unravel as it did. The process was an easy flow.
