2025 40 Over 40 Series: Nikki Hollier

It’s not how we fall but how we rise. I will continue to rise no matter what I may face. Rise up ladies and walk into a new you. Anyone can do it at any age.

Nikki’s story:

We are products of our upbringing right? Or does the way you see the people you love most make you want better? Being raised by my addicted mother who lost custody of my brother and I when I was young shaped most of my early life. Giving way to addiction myself from teens into my mid twenties. Something in my snapped when my grandmother passed. She never saw me reach my true potential. So I did a complete turnaround leaving behind the life I had come to know for sobriety and choosing abundance over despair. I have remained sober since 2004 going on to become a mother and a nurse who has the opportunity to share my story and inspire others through hardship. It’s not how we fall but how we rise. I will continue to rise no matter what I may face. Rise up ladies and walk into a new you. Anyone can do it at any age.

What are some of the rewarding parts of the current decade you are in? The challenges?

Live and let live. What is meant to be will come to pass. Becoming the guardian of my father due to an illness I never saw coming has forced me to see a side of myself I didn’t know was there.

What has been your favorite decade you have lived through and why?

Right now! I know who I am and I embrace what life has to offer.

If given the opportunity, what would you do differently?

Not a single thing. I am who I am today because of the lessons I have learned.

What was your top life lesson that you’ve never forgotten and have lived by?

When people show you who they are….believe them.

What has bought you the most joy in your life?

Being a mother has taught me to love unconditionally and to let the small things go.

What was your experience like working with Brandi Stage Portraiture as a part of the 40 Over 40 Project?

Invigorating. When I saw myself in the mirror I didn’t know I could be so beautiful. I didn’t know who that lady was. It was me but elevated. Wonderful experience.
